Each of our hand turned root vases and urns is uniquely beautiful and stands alone as a natural work of art. These fantastic pieces are turned from a species of Chinese Fir called Shan Mu, which grows abundantly in the mountains of central China. The stumps left by logging are reclaimed prior to replanting and hand-carved by local artisans into the shapes in this collection. They are beautiful decorative items that bring their own unique organic charm into the home. Each piece is a one-of-a-kind.
Food-safe lacquer finish
Knotholes and minor cracks add a unique charm.

Turned from highly variable reclaimed roots and stumps, these urns and vases are each unique works of the turner's art. Some are smooth with birdseye grain, while some have deep rifts and gnarled knots, or combinations of both. Great by themselves or in decorative groups, these spectacular pieces are true examples of the beauty of nature.
This item is handmade and each piece is unique in appearance
I just received my products but the wood vase is different image from the picture. I know the wood product is kind of nature thing,so every item in unique. I don't care the lacquer coating and cracks, but the knotholes are totally different,I was disappoint with what I purchased.
Truth be told, I'm somewhat disappointed with the the product (2400-Rootworks Urn). From the picture and description, I expected the Urn to have a more finished (furniture like) appearance. I was hoping that it would be somewhat darker AND have kind of a semi-gloss sheen. Supposedly, there is a "food grade" lacquer coating applied to the Urn. If so, it's anything but obvious.
Please don't get me wrong. Once I myself complete putting a darker stain on it and a finish coating, it should look like what I expected. I just didn't expect that I would need to do any of that.
