Xenon puck lights are dimmable and easy to install either as surface mount or recessed. Up to 10 lights may be linked together. The cover of the light has a non-glare lens that twists off for easy bulb replacement.
Cord and plug included with all one-, two- and four-light kits; product LVPX20-B still requires that cord and plug be purchased separately.
Not intended for permanent hardwire installation inside built-in furnishings such as kitchen cabinets or trophy cases.
The lights look beautiful under our cabinets. They do exactly what we wanted them to do. We chose these because we needed 7 lights to operate from one switch and all the others we found had to use a transformer. We hired an electrician to put them in because we wanted them hardwired and are very pleased with the end result. I gave four stars on quality because one of the lenses fell out but we think it may be able to be tightened. Shipping was very quick and the on-line chat option with customer service was very helpful!

bulbs don't last worth a crap
By The Mine Guest from Ossining NY on Apr 24, 2005
Nice undercounter lights - used in my kitchen. Good light. However at $4 a piece the 25 Watt G-8 bulbs don't last more than a month or two of 4 hour a day use.
I did some research and in spite of seeing a couple of negative reviews elsewhere against American Lighting, I chose these and am glad I did! The LED types were "novelty-priced" way too high. I'm not sure I'd see ROI in my lifetime. I did not want to deal with transformers on the low voltage ones. And, the 120v pucks that were considerably cheaper from the box stores, were wiring nightmares. These can be daisy-chained, whereas the one's from the box stores had each light wired back to a hub, which can only handle four lights. Because I had 20, I envisioned as wiring scheme that rivaled March Madness tournament brackets. One other thing I did not think about, but accidentally did right, was taking great care in positioning. Our granite countertops reflect like a mirror. Having spaced my lights at 9" on-center and at 18" high, I have very even light distribution on the work surface. The boss (Think wife) really likes that...
I researched puck lights thoroughly before purchasing the American Lighting product. Most of the big box products were significantly less expensive but cheaply made and not a good long-term value. Very happy I spend the extra here. By the way, you don't need the convenience box accessory if your direct-wire application is switched.
Under cabinet lights are just what we wanted and we have recommended to your friends. The lights are of good quality. I was shorted on the mounting screws, but everything else about the product was more than enough to offset buying a few screws. I order more extension cords than needed, but return was easy.
