Whether you are restoring a heritage home, building a new one or simply renovating your existing home, Cheviot delivers the luxurious splendor of the Victorian era, the angular lines of Art Deco, and the ultimate in modern design.
Offered with holes for tub wall-mounted faucets, or without holes for use with wall-mounted or free standing faucets.
I already had a cast-iron tub, but the old style which has only 11" of water depth. I wanted a real soak. Cast-iron holds it's heat much longer than acrylic or fiberglass and the new resin tubs are supposed to hold the water temperature almost as long as cast-iron and they're more expensive. Dah.
I shopped very far and wide and tried a whole bunch of the different tubs that are available in showrooms and big-box stores (you might not find many stores with cast-iron in stock, too heavy to handle I guess). This one is the best I can find that will fit into my smallish space (tub is 58" x 30") and it was priced at the low end of the current trend. A cast-iron tub at Home Depot was anywhere from about $3,000 to $8,000 at this water depth (15 1/2") and that didn't include the feet, drain or taps. The feet are included in Lowe's price thereby saving me another $250 to $875 pre-tax.
The only drawback is that delivery is to the driveway, i.e. just off the truck. They don't carry anything. It comes crated, and it's upside down. We removed the outside crating to get it into the house and until it's installed, I won't be able to look at the inside. The outside is absolutely perfect, so I'm imagining the best.
If I had another bathroom would I buy this tub again from Lowe's, you betcha I would. No doubt about it. Thank you Lowe's, I'll enjoy many, many soaks. It's perfect.
