This Shower Rod with Step Style Flanges by Franklin Brass is offered in a 1-in x 6-ft size. It is offered in a satin nickel finish.
Franklin Brass Shower Rod with Step Style Flanges
Add a subtle design element to your bathtub or shower with this decorative shower rod. The rod has a 1-inch diameter and fits standard bathtubs. The classic step-style flange design and finish coordinate beautifully with other bathroom fixtures.
This shower rod is well built, looks great, and installs easily if you have basic handyman skills. I replaced a lesser rod, and I can tell the difference in the quality. This one has a clear coating that protects from scratches turning into rust. Because it is one solid rod that you cut down to size, you do not get that nasty seam in the middle that catches the shower curtain.
One caution - make sure to cut the rod long enough to fit into the holes in the wall mounts. If you cut too much and rely on the end caps to hold the rod in place, it will not look right. The end caps have a gap in the hole where the rod goes through, and you want that gap to be even all around the rod, and not have the rod sitting at the bottom. I cut the rod just a tad too short, and I had to add a little length back onto the rod (home-made rigging) so that it stayed within the mounting holes.
The rod I replaced cost more and was not nearly the quality of this one - a good buy!
Installation requires careful measuring and cutting to get the shower rod to go from wall-to-wall. The flanges that support the bar are fairly thin and stand out less than 1/8" from the wall, so if you cut it short, it won't stay up. I erred and had to lengthen mine. The trim flanges did cover the repair, but it would have been better if I had cut it precisely. I didn't find any instructions in the package so I installed it the only way it appeared it could be. If is very nice to move the shower curtain back and forth and not hit the seam on out old telescoping shower rod. This one is finished nicely. I would say it is a quality product.
