Reviews for 52-in Concept I Ceiling Fan | The Mine
The fan is nicely constructed, easy to assemble - however, when the fan operates, it makes a wosh -wosh - wosh ----- sound. Fans make a noise when operated at high speed but have a constant sound as the air rushes though the blades. This is not a constant and is not nice to sleep with. Called the manufacturer and they ran a test and agreed the fan makes this odd sound. I suspect the shape of the blade edges causes the noise. Would not suggest buying it.
I've purchased and installed dozens of fans in my lifetime, but this is the first time I've ever purchased a minkaAire fan. The quality, beautiful finish and superior engineering was evident when I first opened the box. The fan is beautiful, perfectly balanced and makes ZERO noise. I wish I had discovered minkaAire years ago. I'll never purchase another fan from the local hardware store. Thank you, Lighting Universe and minkaAire!
We were hesitant to purchase online a product that we did not see in person. This fan exceeded our expectation. We wanted a clean, simple, modern look and got it. We also got a fan that looks more expensive than it is. We also like that you have the choice of installing or not installing the light (we needed some of each) while maintaining a finished look.
I was looking for a modern style that would compliment our mid century decor and this fan does that nicely! I hired a handy man to hang this and he said that it was well made and easy to install.
Others had mentioned that there was woble. I wonder if they had used the balancing kit that was included in the box. We did not need to.
When the fan is on high speed there is a whoosh noise that the blades make as they cut through the air. This is caused by the angle that the blades are on. I don't think it is a big deal. If you don't want the noise you may consider a style that has a flat blade.

DO NOT BUY A FAN FROM MINKA AIRE
from Chicago IL

If you want to be able to reverse this fan you can not have a dimmer anywhere near it or on the same circuit. This is a design flaw of Minka Aire that must be addressed, other fan manufactures do not have this flaw. Don't buy it if you want it to be able to reverse!
I am really happy with this fan purchase. It looks even better in person than it does in the photo. We bought two of them. Not only do they look good, but they are easy to operate and really cool off the the room. While the minka fans are pricey, I felt that the fan was worth the money. I'm really pleased!
I really spent the time researching ceiling fans for my bedroom and I''m so glad I got this one. It''s very attractive and functional as well!

Minka Aire 3-blade fans
on Feb 26, 2014
I bought 2 of them to replace and update the lighted-fans in my kitchen and family room. My husband and I are so disappointed because the fans are beautiful but the light is pitiful. Both rooms are now dark after dusk because the lights extends downward and the ceilings are totally dark, even when I use the remote to push the lights to their maximum level. Did we really need fans is now the question. We may put them in bedrooms, and replace them with down lights. If you want to buy them for half the price, I will sell them to you!!!! Our rooms are fairly large, which may be the root of our problem!
If I could change one thing, that would be the coating on the blades. I've got a white option, and I'm afraid that the coating will attract more than average amounts of dust. Remains to be seen. Otherwise, very nice looking fan!
We have this fan installed outdoors on a small porch. While it looks good, it doesn't move enough air. I rarely turn it on now. I don't know if longer blades are available? I definitely would NOT recommend this fan.
