We ordered 4 different outdoor lamps and after seeing them "live" we decided on this one. Basically because of its looks. The price isn't bad either. One negative comment though - there is no seal between the base of the lamp and the wall. I'll have to come up with something to keep rain from penetrating the lamp and inside of the wall. We'll still order 10-15 more for the rest of the outside of the house.
When I ordered 5 of these I was not aware that the casement was made of plastic. They look very nice and give the ambience that I was looking for. They've been installed for a year now and have gone through a fairly hot suummer and a short freeze during winter. Because the casement is plastic, the housing is beginning to warp and the rubber seal is no longer tight. I will be watching how well this prodcut holds up over the next year. I suspect I will have 2-3 years left on the product, before they require replacing. Because of this I consider the product overpriced.

Doesn't look like picture

Light is not as represented in picture. The bronze faceplate sits on top of a big white plastic box. From the side it looks ridiculous--like a paste-on. I would not purchase again.
These outdoor scounces worked perfectly. I installed them myself with the detailed instructions provided. My old scounces did not have a rubber seal to protect the light bulb from getting wet in the rain - these do. Although there are a few more screws involved in changing the bulb, it will have to be done less often. The only problem I had was that one of the units came with the screws so tight that I stripped one of them. There was no spare in the packaging, but I had one that worked in the screw chest.
