I purchased 2 of these lights to replace the ceiling fans on my front porch. I had no trouble mounting the support bracket to the existing wiring box. the major problem I discovered is with the mounting brackets that come with the fixture...these have to be near perfect adjusted in length and locked in place at just the right length to allow for the fixture support (acorn) nuts that allow for less than a 1/4'' of tightening. You can never get the threaded studs at just the right length so that there is not a gap between the fixture and the flush ceiling. I worked on first one for three hours trying to get correct length adjustment on threaded stud. Long story short...throw away the "acorn" nuts that come with the light and replace with same diameter/thread hex nuts and a flat washer and installation takes only 10 to 20 minutes. Without this revised procedure, the fixture will never pull up flush to ceiling in my opinion.
