These knobs and pulls start as a 20 inch by 35 inch sheet of glass. Hot Knobs has access to over 450 various colors and textures. They cut each pieces of glass by hand on a cutting board. Then they clean, glue and stack 2 or 3 pieces of glass. This stack is then placed into a kiln and the temperature is slowly raised to 1,450 degrees fahrenheit and slowly brought back down to room temperature. This process takes about 24 hours. The glass is then cleaned again and a standoff is glued on. It takes about 24 hours for the glue to set and cure to full strength.
Handcrafted in Portland Oregon using high quality hand made materials made in the USA
All knobs are approximately 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" Square (Expect Slight Variations in sizes)
Due to use of natural materials, slight variations in color may occur
I was excited to receive the knob from the picture that was shown. Sadly though when I received the item it was totally different than the picture. The knob is very dark almost black in color, not gold and brown as shown in the picture, and the splashes of color are not that visible. Had I seen it in person I would not have even bought it. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!
I''m very happy with these knobs. They''re heavy and modern with an understated glimmering finish—exactly what I wanted. I trusted reviewers, a great many of whom said the product color is much darker than depicted online, and I''m so glad I did. The bright yellow (as pictured) is nice, but it didn''t match the look I was going for. I wanted something more subtle. Naturally, monitors will display colors and brightness differently, but the discrepancy is significant. Just keep this in mind if you order. What you see is not what you''ll get. In my case, this worked out great. Thank goodness for reviews, right?
These don't come with locking washers so it is very obvious when the squares aren't completely straight. Since I don't have lights that hit each knob head on, the reds and oranges in the picture aren't visible, they are very dark knobs.
