Traditional Langston Grandfather Clock
With a moon phase dial, illuminated to emulate twinkling stars, the Traditional Langston Grandfather Clock is brimming with beautiful ornate details, adding a celestial touch to your home. The split pediment is enhanced with a rare olive ash burl overlay, bookmatched for symmetry, a decorative shell detail and a turned finial. Silver and polished brass distinguish the dial of this clock, with fine details such as Arabic numerals in brass, applied to the contrasting chapter ring in silver. The ring is accentuated by the brass center disk and corner spandrels.
An illuminated case holds the pendulum, with its ornate center disk and polished brass finish, the matching weight shells, and a decorative back panel, which echoes the pattern of olive ash burl found on the pediment and corners of the lower door. Turned caps can be found at the top and bottom of the reeded columns, adding further sophistication.
No great piece of architecture or furniture is complete without a proper foundation, and this piece is no exception: a decorative cutout and sculpted details make the base of this Howard Miller clock a standout. The sides and upper door are made of plain glass in order to highlight the details beneath, while the locking lower door is V-grooved, crystal cut glass, made to impress at first sight.
Assembled and designed in the USA, this impressive and large clock features a Kieninger movement, a precise and cable driven mechanism. The Westminster chime, which can be shut-off at night, alerts you with a strike and a full chime each hour, as well as chimes on the quarter, half and three quarter hour. The movement is easily accessed through the upper side panels, and the clock can be secured on uneven floors or carpet with the adjustable levelers, found under each of the corners.
Your name and a special date can be engraved upon the included brass nameplate. Also included is an heirloom record document in a capsule finished in brass.
