I had this light installed on a sloped cathedral ceiling with the light positioned over the middle landing of our staircase. It looks great, but as the electrician was up on a monster ladder to hang this thing, the interior glass and the exterior glass pieces both became loose at different times. Everything worked out fine, but I was holding my breath. If you are a DIY, I'd recommend solidly taping the glass items to the metal until it is firmly installed and level. My only other disappointment is in not finding a matching, but smaller sized light that would be nice at the top of the staircase. This light itself is way too big, in my opinion, to have hanging on a 9 foot or lower ceiling.
