Love the marbled glass with this fixture...great value for the price. This piece has matching sconces that are also very affordable. Only heads up...the "burnished/antiqued bronze" brackets look more like black.
Decent light but poorly finished materials, look at a different brand
By Kenneth R. from St. Clair Shores, MI on Oct 26, 2009
We purchased the white finish. The light works perfectly for what we wanted, a low profile unobtrusive fixture. It is not good for highly visible locations.
The good: -Easy to install and all parts were included.
The bad: -The brackets that hold the dome are very poorly finished. The first issue is that they have some "nubs" on the side that look like they should have been sanded/cut off. They are about the 1/8" diameter by 1/8" high. Second, the finish doesn't cover the brackets (i.e. metal showing through the white finish).
I purchased a pair of these to replace two lovely light fixrues becasee one of my exitsting fixtures was damaged during a major plumbing repair. Installation of the new fixtures would have been easier if the machine screws provided had been long enough. The local hardware store supplied longer ones. Also, the wire nuts were too small for my old wiring, so I reused the old wire nuts.
Here's my istallation tip: Finding the holes in the metal flushmount was challenging due to the thick pad of fiberglass insulation, so I attached string to the head of each machine screw to assist me in guiding the heads of the screws through the keyhole openings. I fed the string through each opening to use a positioning guide.
