I bought this light for my new house. I had it at my old house and it was such a pretty fixture, I decided to reorder it. Be very careful with this light. The finial has a double threaded screw to hold the (heavy) glass dome in place. It is a terrible design. If it isnt put in exactly right, the glass can fall out. It happened to me and it sounded like a bomb went off. I had thousands of shards of glass in my foyer and living room. I have two small children and if they had been underneath it could have killed or severely injured them.
I'm sorry, but when you are paying nearly $400 for a light fixture, I think they can do better than multi-purpose generic double threaded screw. They should have created a screw just for that finial that threads in one way, but I'm sure they are using that cheap double threaded screw in several models of lights to save money.
It's a very pretty light but I think the design makes it dangerous.
