The Dragonfly Doorbell Ringer was designed by Michael Healy, an accomplished Rhode Island artisan. He enjoyed studying the acrobatic flight of dragonflies while fly fishing in the pond near his cottage. On one August morning, Michael found a large dragonfly perched by the front door. The dragonfly eventually flew away but left behind a wonderful idea for one of Michael Healy's doorbell ringer designs. It was hand-crafted in Rhode Island using the age old art of foundry casting. During the foundry casting process it is heated to over 2000ºF then carefully poured into a hand made sand mold. This mold is used only once, giving the Doorbell Ringer its individual character.
Arrived much more quickly than advertised. It came with no installation instructions. Luckily we're putting in a new front door and our contractor said he would deal with it. It's a lovely design and should set off our new black door beautifully.
It is beautiful and I love it. The only thing I could find wrong is that I don't see the different shades from copper to brass. I only see brass. But that is something I can live with as it is still beautiful and I still love it.
