I had spent quite some time looking at ceiling fixtures for my small-ish condo dining room and had originally planned on installing a chandelier. However, when I decided that a fixture hanging in my "field of vision" would be obtrusive, I started looking at flushmount-type ceiling lights and this item was my final choice after much consideration. My electrician installed it yesterday and when I got home last night I could see that I'd made a close-to-perfect choice (is anything really perfect?) It looks great, provides the light I need and isn't too obtrusive at all! There was a small endpiece that had come off and will have to glued back on, but other than that there was no damage as a result of shipping. The only reason I gave a moderate quality rating for this product was per an acknowledgement that, while solidly built, it is an inexpensive fixture and not what one would expect for twice the money. Nonetheless, a good buy and I highly recommend this set of products. One advisory, however - this website mis-states the light bulbs required for this item; the actual bulbs are readily available at any hardware store and only cost about $6-7/each and are listed as good for about 2000-3000 hours. Surprising in that I would not have purchased this item had I not first researched it with the manufacturer and verified my suspicions.
