When I first opened the package, it looked like an inexpensive light fixture. However, once they were installed on the deck post, and with the colours we choose for wood stain and the metal balusters, everything coordinated well. The atmoshpere is now very warm and inviting on the deck, and even adds a nice decorative touch that is visible during the day.
I bought five of these fixtures to illuminate a block wall bordering my driveway. I liked the shape, the finish (architecturatl bronze) and wattage.
I was pleasantly surprised with how much light these babies put out. More than enough for my purposes. You can adjust the size of the "ring of light" aimed downward by how high you mount the fixture.
I also assumed these would be very high quality fixtures for $40 each. I was dissappointed with how thin the aluminum body is. This is not a solid bronze casting, but a thin alumina casting painted to look bronze. I am sure they will hold up to the elements, but $40 for such a small aluminum fixture boggles my mind. But, I wanted a stylish fixture, and I got what I needed. Note that the wire going to the bulb exits the fixture on the lower left corner. I would assume the wire would exit the top center of the fixture. Don't drill your holes for the wire until you get the fixtures in your hands.
