Absolutely no issues with these. They are easy to install and very good quality. And best of all the price is right. I would easily recommend these.

Good replacement can for new or renovation
By from Carlisle, PA, USA on Nov 09, 2014
I''ve used these a few times. In drop ceiling to replace CFL panels, replace incorrect old cans, etc. Has nails, but can use screws too. For between the joists I''ve had to trim the tabs off to nail them tight. Seem decent quality and good for covering with insulation if you use lower wattage bulbs, CCFL or LED''s. This should keep them from overheating like others have mentioned.

solid product; make sure all parts are there
By from Philadelphia, PA, USA on Apr 03, 2014
I was planning on adding a couple of recessed lights and ended up installing 5 of them, based mainly on how quick & easy this product is to install. Well designed, quick-snap wiring leads, and easily-accessible mounting hardware included make this a great product overall. Good price too. One caveat: make sure all parts are included before purchasing! Often the mounting rails get detached by customers rummaging through the selection on the shelf. I discovered one was missing after getting home, and had to go back and get it replaced, which was a bit of a bummer.

Great housing
By from Ohio & NJ on Jan 25, 2014
Here is a tip. When using this 5" recessed IC housing. Get a 6" hole saw and arbor for your drill. It fits perfectly. I have installed 25 of them in my home. So easy that way. I only have a few more to go. ------------- This is the lights I have been using in them. Easy to install!
By from Norfolk, VA, USA on Nov 11, 2013
The nails at each end of the rail makes for easy installation. I installed this and a 4" Recessed light in my atttic and I hooked up a couple 3 way switches to operate both lights from multiple locations. The size of the box on the side of the light is ample enough to house the wiring for this application. Don''t forget to get some NM/SE connectors!

Don''t trust the quick connects.
By from Bucks, PA, USA on Jun 17, 2013
These cans are great.... Except for the wiring quick connects. After wiring a dozen into my 16 foot high cathedral ceilings half didn''t work. I traced it down to 3 quick connects that had failed to hold the wire. Luckily the cans are easy to remove and have access to both sides of the junction box inside. Wire nutted those 3 connections and back in business. I used the 5imch cans with a 6inch retro fit LED light for nice fit.

Halo H5ICAT
By from Dallas on Apr 16, 2012
Bought 6 of these for my house. Easy to install and are nicely priced. Trim kit not included. Trims are where the company makes their money. Many of the trims cost more than the fixture. Nice size for those smaller areas that don't need a Par38.

Make sure the lamps are the ones specified. I tryed using a 75w halogen in which was too hot and it tripped the thermal braker.
