A Chic Hobby Room? Totally Possible!

When we think of hobby rooms, we often think of the mess that accompanies them – and then some of us start rethinking having one in the first place.

But, a hobby room isn’t necessarily a craft room, and even if it is that doesn’t mean it has to be a train wreck. Well, at least not all the time. Here are a few ways you can merge your creative side with your interior design style.

Don’t hide your hobby room away.

It may seem crazy to make your hobby room a part of the “public space,” but doing so will motivate you to keep it in order and integrated with your overall look.

This doesn’t mean it has to be smack-dab in the middle of the living room, but it but it doesn’t have to be tucked away in the basement, either, unless that’s the most convenient place for it and you like having it there.

Make your hobby room a presentation space.

Sometimes a hobby room is a bit like a secret laboratory – no one knows how the art is made. We make it, we perfect it and then we take it out into the real world to show it off.

The thing is, people might be interested in how you make your art. And, if you’re not the type who thrives on creating in secret, it might be cool to show off your workspace by inviting people into it.

Keep your hobby room cozy.

Creation can get messy, but it doesn’t have to be uncomfortable. Get the most out of your hobby room with comfy secondhand furniture that can suffer a few stains.
