Suzanne Kasler

ABOUT SUZANNE KASLER

Inspired by architecture, art, fashion and travel, Suzanne Kasler designs spaces and products that are luminous, distinctive and timeless. Her designs always reference the past, but move toward the future with an edited and discerning eye on the present.

Suzanne mixes the high and the low, traditional and contemporary, and the new with the old to create signature interiors and products that convey a sophisticated simplicity. Her designs inspire everyone to live a more beautiful, stylish and authentic life.

Suzanne's work has been published in several major design magazines, including Architectural Digest, Elle Décor, House Beautiful, Traditional Home and Veranda. She's been named to Architectural Digest's AD100 and Elle Décor’s A-List. Her award-winning interiors have been captured in two books with Rizzoli, "Inspired Interiors" and "Timeless Style," and her third book will be published in late 2018.

In addition to designing timeless interiors for her clients, Suzanne has produced signature lines for Ballard Designs, Hickory Chair, La Cornue, Lee Jofa and Visual Comfort.

Questions and Answers

Q: "What's your design motto?"

A: "To me, it is all about the architecture. The architectural envelope allows for editing, decorating; when the beautiful and the subtle come to life perfectly."

Q: "What's your favorite hotel?"

A: "The Ritz in Paris, recently renovated by Thierry Despont. Every detail is just beautiful and so special. It is truly a treat to stay there."

Q: "What's the easiest way to transform a room?"

A: "Fresh paint, and then updating smaller things like the lamps, lampshades, throws and pillows."

Q: "What's the first thing you do for a client?"

A: "... The first thing I like to do is study the floor plan. My background is in interior architecture; you have to get the architecture and floor plan right for the project to be successful, and then you can start decorating."

Q: "What's your most desired superpower?"

A: "Energy."

White is always right – with a shade of white as the foundation, a room can then take on layers of color and texture.
